Our modules are based on an annual subscription(an entitlement). When you purchase an entitlement:

  • you are allowed to use the module on the named nodes you purchased the subscription for;
  • you get full support on usage and any issues you have;
  • we will guide you towards a working setup;
  • Are allowed to use the latest and greatest version without any extra charge;

We will make sure the modules keep working with the latest versions of Puppet en the supporting products like Oracle IBM MQ or WebLogic.

You say it’s free for development. What does that mean?

Most development of Puppet Infrastructure is done on virtual machines running on developer workstations. Our software is free to use on Virtualbox VM’s on developer workstations. All the features all available and there is no time limit.

What counts as a node?

A Node is any network-connected device such as a server, desktop, or laptop, including virtual and physical machines.

How do you measure when a node is in use?

Our modules contain a flexible entitlement manager. This allows us to discuss the type of entitlement management that works for you.

In our standard entitlement model, you tell us the node names of the nodes you want to run the module on. These nodes are registered in the entitlements file.

Contact us so we can discuss other options if this model isn’t a good fit for your requirements.

What if I exceed my entitlement date?

Our modules contain a flexible entitlement manager. This allows us to discuss the type of entitlement management that works for you.

In our standard entitlement model, we start issuing warnings 30 days before your entitlement expires. After the entitlement expires, the Puppet module will not make any changes on the running system. It will just leave it as it was. It will also give you an error, so resources depending on it, will not run.

Contact us so we can discuss other options if this model isn’t a good fit for your requirements.

How will I know I have entitlements for a specific node?

Very simple. Puppet won’t apply any custom types that are part of the module and issue an error. Some of the defined types and classes might work. When Puppet issues an error, it will show you what nodes, and modules are entitled.

How can I get an entitlement for my system?

Go to the on-line store or contact sales and buy the entitlements you need. After you have bought the entitlements, we will ask you for the node names and send you entitlement files. You can place those entitlement files on your systems or on a Puppet master.

Will I have to manage a separate entitlement key for each purchase of node entitlement?

You can just put all entitlement files together in a directory. Puppet will find out the right one it needs. So you can be sure your Puppet keeps running permanently.

What is the duration of my entitlement?

Our modules are based on an annual Subscription. This subscription allows you to use the modules and receive support. The entitlement lasts for 12 months. After the initial 12 month period, you can renew your entitlement.
